Ruby, a cavalier king charles spaniel,
is an active 2 years old cavalier. She enjoys the run, jump and constantly craves for all kinds
of food. It is her
temperament that often leads her to injury and possible skin
problems.
When she was about 5 months old, Ruby
had three bad falls. Two
were from the dining chair and one from the dining table. It was, indeed, a painful fall for a growing puppy. Today, she still jumps up and down the bed and from the edge
of the sofa that is almost 2 feet high. She was diagnosed to suffer luxating patella when she was one
year old.
In
her puppy hood, she had bad habit to sniff and eat anything she
found, inside and outside the house. She had eaten stones, plastics, cotton wools and anything
that her mouth can take. It was strenuous for her digestive system.
Ruby has been exposed
to Reiki since young. While
she visits the vet only for her necessary vaccinations and
sterilization, she is constantly receiving Reiki treatments for
miscellaneous health warrants. Medically,
the vet finds Ruby to be a normal healthy dog.
Reiki was given to Ruby, not to
eliminate the medical science but, as an alternative to heal her
physical discomforts. There
is no sign of luxating patella today despite her active lifestyle. A day after her spay, she was already back to her canine
behavior jumping around. The
wound healed fast without restriction to her normal diet.
Once, she had bad
allergy when she consumed pomelo for her supper treat. Within an hour, her skin developed bumps all around her body. Her eyes were watery and she was scratching to ease,
probably, the itch. There was no medication and a dose of Reiki was given to
substitute the non-available medicine at that hour and her refusal
to drink water. She
turned out to be normal after about an hour after the Reiki
treatment.
What is Reiki? Simply, Reiki is a universal medicinal cure of many illnesses
that effect change in the chemical structure of the body. It starts with the laying of hands and a magnified mental
focus. When an animal,
or human, receives Reiki, subtle healings within the body are being
generated. The laying
on of hands from a Reiki practitioner is only a tool that guides
Reiki towards a state of well being to the recipient. In the process, Reiki flows from the physical body into a
person’s emotional, mental and spiritual state resulting to heal
the body, mind and spirit.
Reiki is not a religion. There is, indeed, no doctrine to follow, no creed to remember
or a holy book to abide with. It
has been used by practitioners of Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism
and Islam. Reiki is a
spiritual connection that compliments any faith as a hands-on
healing practice. It
works with one’s intention for the betterment and rejuvenation of
the mind and body.
The lay of hands in Reiki is an
essential part of wholeness and love. Studies have shown that without touch, babies cannot thrive. It is mindful that a mother’s touch can relive pain in
children. A pat from a
friend often comforts another being. In sports, athletes often touch each other as a sign of
support and respect. The
laying of hands in Reiki, hence, is a non-verbal communication to
another to share the gift of healing.
When Reiki is provided, a cleansing
period is taking place to detoxify and physical chemicalisation
often occurs. A study
was made with water and treated with Reiki and its chemical
molecules enhanced as compared to the non-treated. A fruit or a flower stays fresh longer with Reiki treatment.
Generally, animals are far receptive
and heal faster with Reiki treatment as compared to humans. Animals feel more than they rely on their thought where
humans tend to make quick judgement and attempt to analyse. The state of well being and healing is separated with the
weight of one’s positive and negative conscious mind. In animals, and particularly with our canine companion, they
sacrifice themselves for the well being of the humans they have
bonded to. It is their
unconditional love that allows Reiki to heal their physical faster
as their emotional level is only filled with love.
